MBR
General Summary
A membrane bioreactor (MBR) is an activated sludge process that uses membranes to filter out suspended solids, including harmful microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria and cysts that traditional clarifier or sedimentation system cannot remove.
Applications
Towns; Large camps and barracks; Mining operations; Government installations; General industrial and commercial facilities.
Benefits and Features
High MLSS concentration enables a lower tank volume and a longer sludge age, substantially reducing the footprint of the plant and the volume of sludge production. Membrane Bioreactors can produce the highest quality of treated effluent, often requiring no primary or secondary settlement stages and no additional tertiary treatment to achieve a high discharge quality.
